Maham is a 24-year-old married woman living in Agra Taj, Lyari, Karachi. She is a home-based worker and a mother of two children. Her husband, Noman, works at United Company and earns Rs. 23,000 per month. Maham also earns Rs. 3,000 by teaching. To support her family, Maham wanted to earn more. She got an opportunity to join a basic stitching and fabric designing course. With the help of UNDP and HomeNetPakistan (HNP), she enrolled in a vocational training institute. Her course fees and transport costs were fully covered, and she received a travel allowance through the JazzCash app, which made it easier for her to manage her expenses. During the training, Maham learned business skills, improved her abilities, and got marketing tips to sell her work online in the future. She now wants to continue learning and stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to join a computer course, like Microsoft Office, with support from UNDP or HNP. This will help her gain better skills and job opportunities.
