Shabana is a 34-year-old woman living in Abidabad, Karachi. She has a disability that makes it difficult for her to walk. She depends on her family, which makes her feel like a burden. She always wanted to earn money, but due to her disability, she faced many challenges. Shabana was always looking for opportunities to learn new skills and support herself. With the help of UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP), she got the chance to join a basic stitching and fabric designing course at a vocational training institute. Her course fees and transport costs were fully covered. She also received a travel allowance through the EasyPaisa app, which helped her manage her expenses. This course helped her start her own work of stitching clothes. She now wants to keep learning and stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to join a computer course, like Microsoft Office or Graphic Designing, with support from UNDP or HNP. This will help her improve her skills and grow her business.
