Sawaira is a 21-year-old unmarried woman living in Musharraf Colony, Karachi. She lives with her father, Abdul Aziz, who is a fisherman and earns Rs. 25,000 per month. Sawaira is currently studying and wants to help her father with household expenses. To learn new skills and earn money, she got the chance to join a basic stitching and fabric designing course with the support of UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP). Her course fees and transport costs were fully covered. She also received a travel allowance through the EasyPaisa app, which helped her manage her expenses. During the course, Sawaira learned business skills, improved her abilities, and got tips on selling her work online in the future. She now wants to continue learning and stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to join a computer course, like Microsoft Office or Graphic Designing, with support from UNDP or HNP. This will help her gain better skills and job
opportunities.
