Fiza M. Ayub, a 24-year-old woman from Baldia, Karachi, faces challenges as she cannot hear or speak. Relying on her family made her feel dependent, and she always wished to earn her own income. However, her disability created obstacles in finding opportunities. Determined to gain new skills and become selfsufficient, Fiza found an opportunity through UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP). She enrolled in a basic stitching and fabric designing course at a vocational training institute, where her course fees and transport costs were fully covered. She also received a travel allowance through the EasyPaisa app, which helped her manage her daily expenses. This training enabled Fiza to start her own work. She now wants to continue learning and stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. Her goal is to enroll in a computer course, such as Microsoft Office or Graphic Designing, with support from UNDP or HNP. This will help her enhance her skills and expand her career opportunities. Through these training programs, Fiza is taking steps toward a more independent and secure future.
