Kashaf Sheikh is a 20-year-old unmarried woman living in Musharraf Colony, Karachi. She lives with her father, M. Asif, who works at a private company and earns Rs. 35,000 per month. Kashaf is a home-based worker and earns Rs. 3,000 per month. She has been facing financial challenges and family responsibilities. To learn new skills and earn more money, Kashaf got the chance to join a basic stitching and fabric designing course with the support of UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP). Her course fees and transport costs were fully covered. She also received a travel allowance through a cash app, which helped her manage her expenses. During the course, Kashaf learned business skills, improved her abilities, and got tips on selling her work online in the future. She now wants to keep learning and stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to join a computer course, like Microsoft Office or Graphic Designing, with support from UNDP or HNP. This will help her improve her skills and find better job opportunities. With these training programs, Kashaf is working towards a better and more independent future.
