Tehmina Bano, a 34-year-old mother of three from Ittehad Town, Baldia, Karachi, works as a home-based stitching worker earning Rs. 25,000 monthly. Despite her hard work, she and her husband, Tanveer Ahmed, a shopkeeper earning Rs. 30,000, faced financial difficulties due to limited business knowledge. Determined to improve her skills, Tehmina sought opportunities to support her family better. With the help of HomeNet Pakistan (HNP) and funding from UNDP, Tehmina joined a threemonth vocational training program to learn stitching and fabric designing, which covered her fees and transport. The training helped her learn new skills and earn  professional certification. Although she struggled with the long distance to the training center, Tehmina completed the course and now dreams of starting her own training center. She also set up a digital wallet for payment management and plans to learn computer skills to improve her business. Tehmina is looking for work in the garment and textile industry and is committed to growing her business, showing the value of the support she received from HNP and UNDP.
