Uzma Parveen, a 35-year-old married woman and mother of five children, has been supporting her family through her skills in stitching and cutting. Despite her expertise, she faced financial challenges due to limited business knowledge and resources to grow her work. Uzma took part in various training programs organized by HNP, where she learned record-keeping, budgeting, and how to create a business plan. She also gained awareness about labor laws, occupational health and safety, and unionization. With financial assistance from UNDP and HNP, Uzma enrolled in a three-month course at the STEVTA Khadda Market Center, where she gained hands-on training in basic stitching and fabric design. HNP also covered her transportation costs, allowing her to focus on her learning without financial worries. As a result, her income increased significantly, rising from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 5,000 per month. Motivated by her progress, Uzma plans to remain connected with HNP and participate in further training opportunities to grow her business and secure a brighter future for her family.
