Kiran is a 35-year-old married woman living in Baldia, Karachi. She has four children, and her husband runs a medical store, earning Rs. 35,000 per month. Kiran is a home-based worker and wanted to learn new skills to grow her business. She was always looking for opportunities to learn something new. With the help of UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP), she got the chance to join a basic stitching and fabric designing course at a vocational training institute. Her course fees and transport costs were fully covered. She also received a travel allowance through the EasyPaisa app, which helped her manage her expenses. During the course, Kiran learned business skills, gained confidence, and got tips on selling her work online in the future. She now wants to keep learning and stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to join a computer course, like Microsoft Office or Graphic Designing, with support from UNDP or HNP. This will help her improve her skills and expand her business.
