Rabiya Saleem, a 19-year-old woman from Baldia Town, Karachi, is unmarried and currently studying at the undergraduate level. Alongside her studies, she works from home and also teaches, earning PKR 10,000 a month. Since her father, Saleem Ullah, is unemployed, Rabiya and her mother are the ones managing the household expenses. With help from UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP), Rabiya enrolled in a vocational training program where she learned stitching and fabric design. All her fees and transport expenses were covered, and she received her travel allowance through the EasyPaisa app, which helped her become better at handling finances. Rabiya wants to continue building her skills and stay in touch with HNP. She is interested in learning computer skills, like Microsoft Office, in the future with support from UNDP or HNP. Her aim is to become financially stable, support her education, and help her mother with household responsibilities.
