Tayba Naz is a 27-year-old unmarried woman living in Baldia, Karachi, with her father, who works as a laborer and earns around Rs. 35,000 per month. In her free time, Tayba enjoys doing stitching at home, but she always wished to improve her skills and take them to the next level. However, she wasn’t sure how or where to begin. Her journey took a positive turn when she got the opportunity to join a basic stitching and fabric designing course at a Sindh vocational training center, supported by UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP). What made it even better was that everything was taken care of—from course fees to transport. She also received a travel allowance through the EasyPaisa app, which made it easier for her to attend the training without financial stress. Through the course, Tayba not only improved her stitching and design skills, but also learned valuable business knowledge—like how to present her work, market it, and even sell it online. These new skills gave her confidence and a fresh sense of direction. Now, Tayba feels motivated and hopeful about the future. She wants to keep learning, stay involved with HomeNet Pakistan, and one day turn her passion into a source of income. With continued support, she’s on her way to becoming more independent and financially stable, both for herself and her family.
