Case Studies Of Anita Zaib

Aneeta Zaib is a 24-year-old unmarried woman living in Baldia Town, Karachi. She is a person with a disability and had never worked before enrolling in a skills training program. Her father works in a private company and earns around PKR 30,000 per month, which was the family’s only income. Due to her disability, Aneeta missed out on many opportunities and struggled to find ways to support herself. With the support of UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP), she enrolled in a vocational training program where she learned basic stitching and fabric designing. The course fees and transport expenses were fully covered, and she received her travel allowance through a cash app, which helped her become more confident in managing money and using digital tools. This training was a turning point in her life. With the knowledge and skills she gained, Aneeta became a certified fabric designer and started working from home. She also learned how to market her products, manage small business tasks, and sell her work online. These skills allowed her to start earning independently and contribute to her household. Now, Aneeta is proud to cover her own expenses and support her family in small ways. She feels empowered and motivated to keep learning. She plans to stay in touch with HomeNet Pakistan and hopes to join a computer course, like Microsoft Office, to enhance her skills and explore new job opportunities. Her dream is to continue growing her stitching work from home and build a stable and independent future.
