Aiman is a 27-year-old married woman from Baldia Town, Karachi, and a mother of two children. She has completed her intermediate education and works from home doing stitching to support her family. Her husband, Amir Ali, works as a labourer and earns around PKR 24,000 per month. With rising inflation and daily expenses, Aiman’s family has been facing financial difficulties, but she continues to work hard to improve their situation. With the support of UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP), Aiman enrolled in a vocational training
program where she learned basic stitching and fabric designing. The training fees and transport expenses were fully covered, and she received her travel allowance through a cash app, which also helped her improve her money management and digital skills. Before joining the course, Aiman used to earn around PKR 8,000 to 10,000 a month. She had limited knowledge of marketing and didn’t know how to promote her products or reach more customers. After completing the training, she improved the quality and creativity of her stitching work. She also learned how to manage a small business, showcase her products, and sell them online. This helped her reach new customers and increase her earnings to around PKR 15,000 per month. Aiman is now more confident and motivated to grow her business. She wants to continue learning and plans to stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to take a computer course, like Microsoft Office, in the future to improve her digital skills and explore better job opportunities. Her goal is to become financially stable, support her children’s education, and build a better future for her family.
