Case Studies Of Mehak Ghaffar

Mehak Ghaffar is a 24-year-old divorced woman from Baldia Town, Karachi. She has one child and has completed her matriculation. Her father, Abdul Ghaffar, works in a private company and earns PKR 30,000 per month. Mehak hasn’t faced any big challenges so far, but she wants to earn money to support her child and become independent. With support from UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP), Mehak joined a vocational training program where she learned basic stitching and fabric designing. Her course fee and transport costs were fully covered, and she received her travel allowance through a cash app, which helped her learn how to manage money and use digital tools better. During the training, she also learned about marketing, small business management, and online selling. These skills gave her confidence and encouraged her to take her stitching work seriously. Mehak is keen to continue learning and wants to stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to take a computer course, like Microsoft Office, so she can improve her skills and explore better job options. Her goal is to become financially strong, support her family, and create a better future for herself and her child.
