Case Studies Of Khan Bibi

Khan Bibi is a 20-year-old unmarried woman from Baldia Town, Karachi. She has completed her matriculation and currently works as a teacher at a local tuition center. Alongside teaching, she also does stitching at home to manage her personal expenses, earning about PKR 5,000 per month. Her father, Abdul Khaliq, works in a private company and earns PKR 30,000 monthly. So far, Khan Bibi has not faced any major challenges in life, but she wants to become independent and support her family in the future. With the help of UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP), she enrolled in a vocational training program where she learned basic stitching and fabric designing. The course fee and travel costs were fully paid for, and she received her travel allowance through a cash app, which helped her become more confident in handling money and using digital tools. During the training, she also learned about marketing, how to manage a small business, and how to sell her handmade products online. These new skills helped her feel more confident and motivated to take her stitching work more seriously. Khan Bibi is very interested in continuing her learning journey. She plans to stay connected with
HomeNet Pakistan and hopes to take a computer course, such as Microsoft Office, to improve her skills and find better job opportunities in the future. Her goal is to become financially independent, help her family when needed, and build a brighter future for herself.
