Saba Naz, a 40-year-old widowed mother of four, faced significant financial struggles while selling clothes from home. As the sole provider for her family, she found it challenging to cover basic needs like rent and groceries. Despite these difficulties, Saba was determined to create a better future for her children and herself. When the chance came to join a stitching and fashion design course at STEVTA Joona Market, she eagerly embraced the opportunity, even though she had no experience garmentmaking. Through months of intensive training supported by HomeNet Pakistan and UNDP, Saba learned basic and advanced stitching and fashion design skills. She started with small orders from her neighborhood, which gradually helped her establish a steady income. The training enhanced her skills and boosted her confidence, enabling her to handle more complex designs and take on bigger orders. Her commitment and hard work turned her challenges into opportunities. Saba’s achievements are remarkable. She is now financially independent, able to provide for her family, and has earned a reputation as a skilled tailor in her community. She dreams of expanding her business and teaching other women to help them achieve financial independence. Saba credits the free training program with transforming her life and looks forward to advancing her skills further, inspired by the positive changes she has already achieved.
