Kulsoom Imran is a 40-year-old married woman living in Islam Nagar, Karachi. She has a disability in her hands and legs, but she runs the Laraib Vocational Center and earns Rs. 10,000 per month. She has three children, and her husband, Malik Imran Zafar, works as a laborer and earns Rs. 37,000 per month. Kulsoom wants to learn new skills to grow her business.To become financially stable and support her family, Kulsoom got the opportunity to join a basic stitching and fabric designing course with the help of UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP). Her course fees and transport costs were fully covered. She also received a travel allowance through the EasyPaisa app, which helped her manage her expenses. During the course, Kulsoom learned business skills, gained confidence, and got tips on selling her work online in the future. She now wants to continue learning and stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to join a computer course, like Microsoft Office or Graphic Designing, with support from UNDP or HNP. This will help her improve her skills and grow her business.
