Case Studies Of Jerizem Iqbal

Jerizem Iqbal, a 21-year-old Christian woman from Ittehad Town, Baldia, Karachi, is a homebased worker striving for financial independence. She lives with her father, Iqbal Samuel, a physiotherapist earning Rs. 20,000 per month, and relies on her family for support. Determined to become self-reliant, Jerizem is focused on learning stitching and fabric designing to help cover her expenses. With support from UNDP and HomeNet Pakistan (HNP), Jerizem enrolled in a vocational training institute to develop skills in basic stitching and fabric designing. Her enrollment fees and transportation costs are fully covered, and she receives her transport allowance through the EasyPaisa app, enabling her to manage her finances effectively. The training has also provided her with valuable business knowledge, capacity building, and insights into marketing through online platforms, which will help her promote her work in the future. Jerizem is eager to continue learning and plans to stay connected with HomeNet Pakistan. She hopes to enroll in a computer skills course, such as Microsoft Office, with financial support from UNDP or HNP to expand her career opportunities. With these ongoing training programs, Jerizem is steadily working toward personal growth and financial independence, supported by HNP and UNDP.
